Dear Editor,

Can you imagine a world without a foreign langauge? I strongly believe that a student should be provided with the opportunity to learn a foreign language. First off, learning a new language expands a student’s mind. Secondly, learning a new language gives a student a wider career option in the future. Lastly, learniing a new language gives a student that advantage in the long run, when it comes to their achievements on their resemme. Here are just a few reasons why I believe learning a new language is important.

The first reason, why I believe students shoud learn a new language is because it expands their mind. For instance, knowing and understanding a new language opens the mind up to a whole other world if you will. I mean once a student embraces that language they become part of that culture, they start to participate in the traditions, celebrations, the food, or even the music that the culture has to offer. In many ways, the student discovers new knowledge that can be very useful later on for them. I honestly believe that learning a new lamguage opens up another door or opportunity for a student, a door or opportunity that they were not able to have before. For this reason, this is why I believe that a student should learn a new langauge.

The second reason, why I believe that stduents should learn a new langauge is because it gives a student a wider career option in the future. For example, if a student is looking to go into the medical field, the patients come from many different backgrounds and cultures, and in order to really be effective with a patient, you want to connect with them and establish that bond between one another. If a student is able to speak the language of their patient they can efficiently help their patient. However, if the student is not bilingual and does nto understand the patient there is one no connection between the one another, and two you can not provide the best service to your patient, which most likely leads to you losing a patient. This is another reason, why I strongly agree with the implementation of a foreign language.

The third reason, why I believe that students should learn a new language is because it gives the students an advantage in the longrun in terms of their resemme. For instance, if you take two students both very bright hwoever one is bilingual, and the other one isn’t. Although both are qualified for the job, the student who is bilingual most likely will get the job over the other because of the fact that he/she are able to speak a foreign language. Overall, learning a new language is one of the best things you could do at a young age because when you are older it will benefit you. Many adults, wish that they were given the opportunity to learn a new language when they were in school, so why not go the children of the 21st century a favor and give them that chance that their parents didn’t recieve. This is just one more reason, why I highly recommend that a learning a foreign langage be put into the school curriculum.

In conclusion, three reasons why I believe that learning a foreign language should be required is because it expands a stduent’s mind. It also gives students a wider career option in the future. Lastly, it gives students an advantage in the longrun in terms of their resemme. As you can see, learning a oreign language can be a helpful tool to the students, and I ask that you fully consider this option.

Sincerely,
